On Monday, April 30, 2007, Wayne Lockhart, chief geologist for First Source Resources received the Distinguished Service Award for District 1 (Atlantic Canada), from the Canadian Institute of Mining Metallurgy and Petroleum. The award was presented at the CIM Annual General Meeting, held in Montreal this year.

The award is given annually, but only if there is a worthy candidate, to honour contributions to the CIM branches and societies.
